During the World Championships in Bormio, Italy, the GS race comes to mind. He told us straight up that it was going to be a tester physically. It was a long course on a hill where you had to work for speed and be smart. I knew that I had the conditioning to go all out start-to-finish and put the hammer down. I won that first run by a 0.60-second margin. Knowing that you have the skills and can push harder than anyone else does incredible things for your confidence and shows in the results.
